Representasi Keyakinan Cinta dan Harapan dalam Lirik Lagu “Awal Kisah Selamanya” Karya Raisa & Barsena Bestandhi
Abstract
This study discusses the representation of beliefs about love and hope in the lyrics of the song “Awal Kisah Selamanya” by Raisa and Barsena Bestandhi. Music is understood as a cultural medium that exists within society as a construction of social reality expressed through song lyrics. The song “Awal Kisah Selamanya” is a musical work that represents beliefs about love and hopes for the future of relationships, while also reflecting the emotional dynamics of human relationships. This study focuses on analyzing representations of love and hope using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic theory, which is examined through syntagmatic and paradigmatic relationships. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of literature study. Overall, the lyrics of the song “Awal Kisah Selamanya” represent the view that love does not come instantly, but grows from the belief in leaving doubt behind and placing hope in a shared commitment. Syntagmatic analysis shows that the arrangement of words in each verse forms an emotional structure that describes the process of transition from uncertainty to certainty in love, while paradigmatic analysis shows that certain diction choices have alternative meanings which, if replaced, can shift the emotional nuance without changing the main message of the song, namely belief in love and hope for the continuity of the relationship.
